The finest of all things
Neighbourhood figures, barflies, celebrities and those who would like to become one line up around the tables and the bartenders here from early evening until late at night. Noise and tumult are welcome guests too, for example when spontaneous live turns by international artists, the sound of old records or a film shoot set the mood, among them Babylon Berlin, or when a few burlesque dancers dance on the tables.
A quick drink at Heinz and Inge's
Anyone entering Bierstube Alt Berlin will hardly believe it has only stood here for a few years. In fact it stood for 121 years on Berlin's Muenzstrasse and lived through times as stormy as they were legendary, among others under the landlords Heinz and Inge, until it was demolished. In 2016 the Ballhaus team gave the rescued original furnishings a new home. The old charm moved along with them.
Not for everyone, only for Alt Berlin
Connoisseurs of spirits value the house speciality, the Alt Berliner Halb & Halb. Distilled since 1894, this mixture of herbal bitters and orange liqueur arrives at the table in a bottle designed for the house, complete with the white elephant.
